Community Health Center in Cowley County, Inc.
Our History
The Community Health Center in Cowley County (CHCCC) was established in 2015 as a response to the recognized need for accessible, affordable primary healthcare services in Cowley County. Guided by community input and local health data, the organization was developed to address gaps in care for individuals and families who experience barriers related to cost, insurance coverage, geography, and provider availability.
From the beginning, CHCCC has operated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) under the Health Center Program, providing care consistent with federal requirements and community health priorities. The health center was founded on the principle that healthcare is a vital service and that no individual should be denied access to care due to an inability to pay.
Over time, CHCCC has broadened its scope of services to meet the changing needs of the community. What began as a primary care safety‑net provider has evolved into a comprehensive program offering medical care, behavioral health and pharmacy services, well‑child visits, preventive care, chronic disease management, and enabling services that support patients beyond the exam room.
Today, CHCCC continues to advance its mission by strengthening access to care, supporting integrated service delivery, and serving as a trusted healthcare resource for Cowley County and the surrounding area.
